Making of the Computer Graphics for Star Wars

Star Wars is being re-released in 3D starting on February 10th with Episode I The Phantom Menace. I was looking for a featurette that will explain the making of the conversion of the 2 dimensional film into 3D but I found out something even better.
The video above is the making of the computer animated graphics of the Death Star as seen on the original  Star Wars from 1977. Lucas and his friends pioneering from the very first day.
The work was done by Larry Cuba in the 1970s at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) (at the time known as the Circle Graphics Habitat) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
