BOOK - Amazon Japan Marketplace

Today I made my first order to Amazon japan in witch I bought used items. After this first order I decided I will buy more on the second hand marketplace than in the main store. You wouldn't imagine how pristine do Japanese people maintain their books and DVDs.

One of the diferences about buying in the marketplace is that the owner himself ships the stuff and amazon just acts as an intermediary, so shipping cost must be pay per item. But as they are not very expensive especially if you order CDs and DVDs, I find this a better option instead of buying many things together so that Amazon shipping costs start to get reasonable compared with the amount payed for the items.

Anyway, the most important reason I found to buy those items on the marketplace is that all of them are out of stock products. So it's impossible to find them on the store. Amazon marketplace is a nice place to find the stuff you can't find almost nowhere else on the net. One thing you have to make sure of, is that the seller includes this phrase: 海外向け&国内向け発送料金 in the item specifications. It means overseas shipment is available. Only then you will able to place the order to ship outside japan.

It's pretty annoying everytime having to find a seller that ships internationaly the item you are interested in. I think Amazon Japan should improve it's  system letting the customer search only on items available to ship overseas. But thats another story.

Here the list of the stuff I bought from four different sellers around Japan:

AKIRA e-konte 1
The continuity of AKIRA
by Katsuhiro Otomo
The complete storyboard drawn by Otomo himself for the AKIRA movie released in 1988. This first volume is completed with the second volume.
Robot Carnival DVD Special Edition
Nine japanese animaton directors: Katsuhiro Otomo, Takashi nakamura, Koji Morimoto among others...joined their shorts about robots under the title Robot Carnival
Palme no Ki script
by Takashi Nakamura
Written and directed by Takashi Nakamura. Palme no Ki is a nice piece of japanese animation.
Sarutanbōeitai (Sultan Guard)
by katsuhiro Otomo and others. Three short stories published in 1984.
