MUSIC VIDEO | Los caminantes de Plaza

Puerto Rico | 2016 | 5 min | Color | 16:9

AA&NN presents
A musical video reportage by Noelis Prieto
Photographed and edited by Ioannes Busca
Music: ‘Como nunca antes’ by Moreira

Shot in Puerto Rico on July 6, 2016

For over 25 years, a group of senior citizens of Puerto Rico known as ‘Los caminantes de Plaza’ have gotten together on a weekly basis in the biggest mall of the Caribbean before opening hours to workout and socialize.

It’s fascinating how while the stores are getting ready to open their doors, the mall’s common spaces are transformed by this group into a gym-like zone just before the mall gets packed with shoppers.

This memorable scene from 1994 movie Forrest Gump directed by Robert Zemeckis is an always inspiring piece of cinema.

Rick Springfield's THE BEAT OF THE LIVE DRUM directed by David Fincher

Today I found a DVD of a 1985 Rick Springfield concert directed by David Fincher. It's always nice to see the first works of such talented directors. I'm waiting for the day in which David Fincher joins Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, Chris Cunningham and others in the Directors Label series of DVD that showcase the early works of this directors.

WAX: CALIFORNIA directed by Spike Jonze

This is one of my favourites Spike Jonze music videos. Released on February 8, 1995. It is the first video included in Jonze's The work of Directors series DVD . Today as I was watching it I thought how long would it take if played at normal speed, so I open it up on Premiere and after some minutes I believe I got the result: 1000X faster. Here the resulting 15 seconds.

I remember watching Alfred J. Kwak on TV when I was a kid. This animation serie was different to others. Always sad things happened to little Alfred. But it was great. I saw this single on Amazon Japan and I ordered. It's a 8cm CD with just two tracks, in a kind of a wide box I never saw before but I suppose it's common in Japan.
