NNbrela

This is a project I can not speak  about. It's a secret project under development. Just take a look to this image.  I hope to be able to write about this project in the near future.  I obtained a good mark just with those two drawings in School so that's enough by now. Efficiency is priority number one people, because waste is a thief.

MORGAN I & II

Morgan is a project I did for this years Projects class. The theme this year was "less is more" and each of us had to do something with some used materials. The results were awesome. I will post some photos of the presentation one of this days. People created so great things.
I named my prototype, Morgan. And it consists in a PVC canvas folded as a cube so that children can use it as a tent. The material is recycled, the one used for those big commercials that hang on the buildings.
I did two protopypes the first one with a canvas of 2,5 X 2,5 meters and the second one with a canvas of 3,5 X 3,5 meters. This last one end up being a bigger cube and I reinforce it with some fiberglass rods bought on a kite shop.

Here a video of how I did the second Morgan- The canvas was bigger that the room so I had some complications. This is a time lapse resume of  one hour fighting with the PVC. I used a traditional stapler commonly used to staple paper and an classic origami folding system so that I didn't have to cut material. From a 2 dimnsional square to a habitable 3 dimensional cube. Voila!

You and Both - Intervention in Upper Lawn Pavilion

In this year's projects class in ETSAM, each of us had to choose an existing house from a list, draw it and analize it first and then made a proposal for an expansion. I chose architects Alison and Peter Smithson's Upper Lawn Pavilion. I discovered Allison and Peter's work in the travel we did last years to UK. It was such a great experience, we visited many of this couple works.
However, while researching to find information to draw the house properly I found their books and texts and is then when I have really started to understand their approach to architecture. Just a magnificent, clear minded, honest, human scale architects. Nothing to do with what we are used to see now a days in magazines.

I have started working with autoCAD in  my third year in school. It has been a headache at first but everything seems to go smooth right now. I will upload the DWG drawings of the house I did based on some drawings I found in school library when I find the proper way of sharing them.

This beautiful edition contains four discs filled of bonus features and a booklet that tell the ten year long project that Mr Otomo wrote and directed about a boy in a retro futuristic England back in the industrial revolution days, when steam machines ruled the world. Otomo remains true to his style; an awesome animation movie full of action and an amount of details that you have to see it to belive it.
